Streaming regularly cuts out

Regularly when streaming via SkyQ apps (BBC iPlayer, Disney+ etc) the blue Q light fades out and TV picture and sound stop.. the box is on, I'm still in the app as if I press back I get back to the Sky home screen and can immediately navigate and load the app again, find the user profile and show and restart streaming.. cannot understand why it's doing this. Very irritating.

@sianmichaela I occasionally have the same problem. I would imagine the slower your Internet connection is would make this happen more often.

I wondered this, but that seems strange - there's only me, I work from home, apparently have super fast which is more than 'recommended' and don't experience it if I'm streaming on other devices, it seems to be a sky issue...

I have this problem too, i have an 80/20 internet line so doubtful its that, and my Q nox is connected direct over LAN.

I am doubtful its internet as my corporate VPN never drops out over LAN or WLAN every day.

definitely a problem with the box itself or, more likely the streaming apps.

I would recommend trying an "apps refresh" to see if that helps, as well as checking if the box software is up to date.

 

To refresh your apps:

 

  1. To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings
  2. With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select
  3. Select Apps then highlight Refresh all Apps on this box
  4. You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'. This will stay on screen until you press Dismiss to return to normal viewing
  5. It’s recommended waiting at least 5 minutes before doing so

Refresh Apps can take up to 24 hrs to complete.

Have tried rebuilding apps suggestion, still cuts out. Anything else I can do?

I've had this once or twice, not obvious to me at all what causes it.

All the TV streaming apps. BBC itv C4.
