Sky Q still disconnecting

My sky Q box still disconnecting  from swish full fibre, already been given loads of things to try from so called expert,,last one lasted for 2 days, but have had to reconnect THREE times today, in space of 2 hours, nothing else only sky Q box disconnecting so box is problem, have seen number of other complaints from others on virgin, plus net, etc,  etc, beginning  to think it's deliberate to persuade you not to leave sky broadband ,either that or serious flaws with sky Q box they don't want to admit to.

Hi @Neil6519

If you cannot connect your Q box to your router by Ethernet then the next best option is to connect a Sky Q booster by a short Ethernet to your router.  You can then use WPS on your main Q box to connect to the booster.

Re: Sky Q still disconnecting

It does connect just doesn't stay connected, don't have booster box, swish doesn't  use w.p.s. because of security issues .

Intrigued to know what "security issues" Swish has with WPS?

I am just another Sky customer!

I'd never use WPS either!
Wireless networks with WPS enabled are more vulnerable, attackers can easily target the WPS function to steal network passwords, regardless of how complex the password is. WPS PIN is like just four numbers & no letters. No point in creating a strong password in a weak network.

Granted, this is a home network - a network nonetheless.
