No Satellite Signal - Sky Q

I'm getting a No Satellite Signal error message on my Sky Q box. I have been through all the help sections, rebooted the Sky Q box, checked the dish for obstructions, checked the cables for damage, but I'm still getting the same error message.

 

I've scheduled an Engineer but it's a 2 week wait for an appointment. Has anyone got any ideas of what I can do to help fix the problem? A factory reset on the Sky Q box perhaps?

@Nigel88  A factory reset is unlikely to fix a No Satellite signal issue, you'll need to book the engineer visit and wait for the next appointment.

 

However before you do that is there heavy rain in the area at all?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Hi GD1. There was heavy rain overnight, but that has stopped for a few hours now.

 

I've restarted the box a few times, one of those times the signal did come back for a couple of minutes but then I lost it again.

Sounds like an issue with alignment or LNB/wiring.  Probably nothing you can do.

 

Once the issue is resolved contact Sky to ask for a credit to be applied for the outage.

 

Alternatively, a local firm could probably fix it quicker but at cost to you.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Exactly the same for me - i am watching Sky through Sky Go on my phone as through Sky Q is unwatchable.

While going through the settings tests there is a tab for enabling Sky Go on the Sky Q box but that won't enable

I just wanted to say thank you to the Sky engineers.  I booked them for today; I was able to track them as they drove to my house and Elson and Darren were exceptionally professional, competent and helpful.  Problem sorted with a smile.   Thank you.
