Every so often, my picture starts to stutter, and I need to perform a software update on my Sky Q box to fix the issue.
Anyone have idea why this keeps happening? It can be every couple of days.
A software update always fixes the issue, and it never impacts the sky Q mini boxes, just the main sky Q box 🤷♂️

Hi @Kevin.1
Highly unlikely that performing a Software update solves your issue.
If already on the latest software then a manual update does not change the software and the box will just perform an extended reboot on restart.
A normal reboot will achieve the same result.
Suggest you try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Well, so this is weird. The picture was ok, but thought I'd follow the steps mentioned anyway.......once completed....the picture started stuttering again 🤷♂️
I performed a software update and the picture was then fine. (For how long is anyone's guess)
I clearly have a weird unique issue here!

That didn't work but all it managed to do is clear all my apps on the apps page.
thanks.

I don't know who you were replying to but they'll reappear. They shouldn't have gone, that's a random glitch that sometimes seems to happen.
try a "Refresh Apps" to kick it into life in the installer menu.

Well, as the person who actually initially had this problem....I've not had the issue for ages. I worked out why....I was putting the sky box in 'standby' mode every night, and when i turned it back on in the morning the stuttering started. So I just don’t turn it off now, problem solved!!!

Hmm that shouldn't create that problem though, of course.
Did you also put it into Active mode instead of Eco so it doesn't turn itself off?

I don't have the problem anymore, so I'm not going to start trying things to break it 🤣
