Sky Q not working over the weekend 16/9/2025 - states no satellite signal has been fine until now

I am glad the rewind issues on certain channels have now been sorted.  However out of the blue I am now unable to watch anything as Sky Q stating no satellite signal.  Weather is fine - turned off and on - on multiple occasions - nothing happening.

@mazzzy62  Go through the steps here Having a problem with your TV signal? | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com  you should be able to book any engineer at the end if the steps don't help.

If you’re seeing a “no satellite signal” message check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s very likely a dish misalignment or possibly a failing LNB (on the arm of the dish) so check the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.

If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise directly with your building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.

It’s worth noting that:

▪️ a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels

▪️ a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.

thank you for your suggestions.  All of which I tried.  though the Service Checker states everything is okay, however still not working.  Its pointless calling Sky Engineers - take about 6 weeks for them to attend as not many engineers around.  Plus in relation to myself having a Communal dish  - the housing authorities  are even worse.  They need to sort out the Communal dish but they also cannot be bothered to climb up.  This they do not consider a priority.  So I am screwed eitherway.

@mazzzy62  Un fortunately if it's a communal dish you're at the mercy of whoever maintains it, a suggestion may be to look at Sky Stream as an option instead?

Presumably if you have a communal dish you pay a monthly or annual fee towards its upkeep. You need to pester your landlord or housing association. They are responsible for its upkeep and will have their own engineers to contact.
