Sky Q connections to mini box

I'm struggling to understand if the sky q mini boxes should connect to my main wifi, which it is, or the sky mesh that is formed from the booster box and q box. I might have misunderstood how these actually work but would appreciate any advise as I'm struggling with one of the mini boxes connecting...

thanks 😊

Hi @Flyer58uk

If on 3rd party Broadband (non Sky) then you need to connect to the Q mesh generated by Q devices.  Note that minis will not connect to 3rd party WiFi extenders or boosters.  If you have a Sky Q booster then you can only connect it if using WiFi,  to the main Q box.

You could try connecting a Q booster to your 3rd party router by Ethernet.  This should then give you the option to connect Q boxes to the booster by WPS.

Re: Sky Q connections to mini box

Thank you...

I seem only to be able to connect all equipment to the third party WiFi which is BT.  I was trying to achieve what's in the following video but there isn't any sky networks showing to be able to do this
