Sky Q mini box wifi network

I have just purchased 2 sky q mini boxes, the 2nd mini box is for a bedroom on the 2nd floor, for which there is a wifi extender and as such technically a different network due to there not being enough signal strength for the main network.

has anyone encountered this before and is there a way to rectify? Or do I simply have to accept I cannot have the mini box in the bedroom if the signal doesn't reach?

A Q Mini will not stay connected to a non-Sky booster or extender.

You can either ask Sky to loan you a Q booster or invest in a different solution such as Powerline networking.

If the extender has an ethernet socket, that's worth a try with the Mini WiFi switched off.
