If you read through the thread you will see answers to your questions. Saves me repeating it.

@NPX wrote:I thought this issue was because my TV is ten years old but reading the thread it seems that it is actually Sky! Very annoying and frustrating - I spend half my viewing time unplugging my sky q box and waiting for the reboot!
Does anyone from
Sky actually look at this thread?
Can't see a reason why the TV would cause that issue unless it was causing interference on the wifi frequency.

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
I had this exact issue
I was with the internet provider gigaclear
Gigaclear have a mesh system
Sky guy said mesh systems conflict with sky q as it has its own mesh system
To fix I bought other Linksys boxes to extend as it's makes the sky q box thinks it's hard wired.
It managed to fix it
Since then I've changed to plus net and sky WiFi connection is shocking, dropping out daily
So I will try to the extent fix or hard wire.

I'll have to try the hard wiring to the router I'm with plusnet, it's 3 days now working fine but today it's dropped yet again

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
I have BT unbreakable internet 🙈 the sky box constantly loses connection. It tells me I am connected to the router but that there is no internet. Yesterday I had to watch tv on my phone as nothing that required internet would work on the damn sky Q box!!!!

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
Similarly we moved over to BT business internet, I have tried 2 hubs but both are doing the same thing. Are the hubs not compatible with sky q? Has BT updated software?

@vickylou01 @Finwhale @John+Ford2020
To those that have just joined this Discussion about SkyQ droppingout you need to go through the posts and have a read.
In a nutshell.......the problem appears to be between SkyQ and WiFi 6. WiFi 6 being the latest version of WiFi. The problem is when either trying to get a direct connection from your Hub / Router to SkyQ or when using some of the Mesh systems.
If you go to my threads you will see a temporary solution using a TP-Link range extender.(Not saying it has to be TP-LInk just that it was what I had already available). Connect your Hub via WiFi to the extender. Then put the extender downstairs and Connect SkyQ to the extender.
Then SKyQ is connected to your extender and not directly to your Hub.
I say telporary fox as hopefully SkyQ will get to the bottom of the problem and fix it. SInce using this method my connection has been on for a few weeks now. Any other connection only lasts hours at best.
Hope this helps...any probs just ask. I can help with range extender and @Chodley who is a very clever chap!

That's what I did. One of those on ethernet off the back of the Q. Didn't work first time and not sure what I changed but it's completely stable now. Wifi turned off on the Sky boxes. Minis connected over powerline ethernet direct to the Q (I have a cheap ethernet switch connecting the Q, BT disc, and powerline adapter)

That's why I said I used powerlines to connect the minis.

Re: Sky Q box regulary loses internet connection.
To hopefuly simplify this for you a bit....
Powerlines and range extenders enable you to get a signal to a device without having ethernet cable having to go from your HUb / Router round your house, through the loft, walls etc to your desired device. . When used as a Poweline it actualy uses the wiring of your home to transport the signal.
My extenders can be connected via Wifi (As I have done) or plug an ethernet cable into the bottom and use as a power line.
So, you would plug 1 x powerline in near your router and connect that via an ethernet cable to the router.
Then plug the second powerline in near your device, MIni, skyQ etc and then connect that via an ethernet cable.
Now the signal goes from your router to Poweline 1. Then travels through the house wiring to Powerline 2 and subsequently from Powerline 2 to the device.
The fix appears to be to not have a direct connection. So the extenders, powerline act as a "Middle Man" as such.
There is a setup procedure with the Extender / powerline but its not too difficult.
Hope this helps.
