Sky Q SCR Mode Sat 1 & 2

Hi Moving into a new home ( Flats) Sound & Vision said that everything is ready to go  but tell sky engineer to move to SCR mode. Did this myself and get a good picture with SAT 1 feed to box but when I connect both cables from wall outlet there is no signal. Just wondering do I just need the one feed? Many thanks

I asked another tenant on Sky q and he said he has the 2 connected ( he may be mistaken) . Only one Single Cable Router (SCR) coaxial cable connection should be used.

Do you think I just still get the sky enginner to check it over or will it be wasting his time. You would be wasting their time.

Will i be able to record with the single cable as I didn't check this.Yes.

hi @Glyn+OSIS

In SCR  - which stands for Single Cable Router - mode then it does use - as the full name indicates - a single cable

I am not too sure why connecting the second cable causes loss of signal - maybe it is confusing it - others may be able to give specifics .

Any reason why you connected the second cable ? (edit - I guess the answer to this might be in your question - not knowing that SCR only needs the one)

@Glyn+OSISYou only need one cable, perhaps the other one is for something else and it causes problems.

Thanks for replying so quick wow. There are 2 outputs in the flat wall  socket plate, SAT1 Sat 2. System has recently been uugraded so pehaps the second feed is not needed. I asked another tenant on Sky q and he said he has the 2 connected ( he may be mistaken) . Do you think I just still get the sky enginner to check it over or will it be wasting his time. Will i be able to record with the single cable as I didn't check this.Im still at a my previous home so I took the box and a PC monitor! Thanks so much for the help

@Glyn+OSISEverything should work, there is no point in getting Sky to check if it works. It is possible that the other tenant does have two leads connected to a Q box but only one will be used if set to SCR. Of course he may be mistaken and have HD+ where the two leads are needed.
