Where do you see that netflix is a 2017 version and aside from that, what does it not do?If firesticks can give you everything you need why are you even still debating it?
In the Netflix app click left and select the <Get Help> option at the bottom then <Device>
A Firestick doesn't have cloud recording like Stream has so I'm seriously considering switching to Stream.
@JibbaJoy just be aware not every channel/programme on Sky Stream can be cloud recorded and definately not any of the apps

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
So from reading this thread, I am now more informed, I bought a LG G4 and so disappointed that when watching programmes on the apps (Netflix, Prime, Paramount, Apple, Disney) on my SkyQ box pixalate.
i even thought it was the TV at first and had one replaced and on my second TV with same issues.
So from those who have already spoke to Sky, any advice ?

If you have bought a G4 then you are downgrading your viewing experience by using apps on the Q box, even when it works correctly.
Your built in TV apps, tuned to the device will provide the ultimate viewing experience. Using the apps on Q through a G4 is like putting a mini engine in a Ferrari.
Leave Q for live TV and recording and app viewing to your far superior TV.

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
I've recently recontracted but, next time, having read a lot of views on this thread, I'll be giving serious thought to a change from Sky Q or even leaving Sky altogether - and I've been with them since the early days when it was free!

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
A very good point and thank you, will watch a few UHD programmes through the TV.
Its a shame Sky haven't progressed and updated the SkyQ box to match the improvements in TVs so seamless viewing is still possible in one place.
or are Sky Q working on a new box ?
thank you again 🙏

No new Sky satellite hardware should be expected, delivery is all moving to streaming via your broadband connection so you will only see products like Sky Glass and Sky Stream being developed from here.
Sky Q will continue to receive updates and bug fixes for a while, but no new hardware.

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
Since the Comcast involvement satellite services are not the route they wish to take. It's extremely unlikely there will be any new box or even significant upgrades to the current boxes.

Pixelation
Why do streaming services have occasional pixelation. Occuring on Sky, Netflix and, Prime. All watched through my Sky box. Has there been an update of software at all as no changes have been made to my home setup. If so, can Sky please update again as soon as possible as spoiling my viewing experience.

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
This is still happening on both Netflix and Amazon Prime, and despite being told by Sky techies that they're aware of the problem, and that an update will be released, it's still unclear as to when. Having paid good money to watch these channels, surely Sky should prioritise this to ensure that we can watch them. Are Sky going to compensate us for what we've been paying, as it's clearly a problem at their end.

Re: Sky Q Apps pixelating
I posted this as a complaint:
The 'pixellation' issues relating to all the apps in Sky Q make viewing through the SkyQ interface unwatchable. These issues are discussed and acknowledged numerous times in the community forum <link attached>. I have tried all the recommended procedures without success. Pixellation continues on the apps so that I have to use a Firestick to access those apps instead. If a new box is provided but subsequently doesn't resolve the issue, I think I should be released from the current contract without penalty and/or compensation should be paid for as long as the problem continues.
The reply came back thus (waffle deleted): We understand the frustration of experiencing pixellation problems, especially when it makes viewing unwatchable. We want to assure you that our support team is aware of this known issue and is actively working to fix it. We appreciate your patience as our teams continue to work towards a resolution. We are sorry to hear that the recommended procedures have not been successful in resolving the pixellation issues. It's also disappointing to learn that you have had to resort to using a Firestick to access the apps instead. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to address this issue. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
