I updated to sky Q boxes. I have a sky package that allows me to watch sky max channel. However anything I have missed on sky max I can not watch on catch up because it asks me to upgrade. I don't get it - from my point of view -either I have paid to watch sky max or I haven't ?

hi @Westy7777
Do you have the HD add on - if not, I think you are probably experiencing a problem that many new users seem to get.
As the default download quality is set to HD (high Definition) not SD then when you try to download and watch you are prompted to upgrade (i.e. take out the HD subscription)
You, probably, just need to change your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences
(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

Anything I try and watch on sky max it says that I need to upgrade my subscription.

I've seen other people have had this issue, I have tried changing the HD/SD thing and nothing. Keeps saying I need to upgrade.
is there a number to call for help? Somebody did try to start a chat on here but I don't have the time to sit and wait for response my time is very limited during the day.

From a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile dial 150 to call Sky (free).
Alternatively you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and a 0333 number is displayed.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a dedicated 0818 ROI number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).
Similar to calling other large companies the start will be automated which may also try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and don’t hang up. If necessary say nothing when the automated system asks you what your call is about as it should then route your call into a queue for the next available agent.
Note: if your services are restricted due to a missed payment/s any calls will only prompt you to pay what you owe.

I'm confused now as I spoke to sky and they have sorted it so I can now watch sky max.
however they said I need to upgrade to HD so have given me a 4 month trial then it will be an extra £9 per month. I thought sky max was free to all sky customers? Was I wrong?
I asked her this and I said I didn't need HD but she asked what shows I was trying to watch on sky max as some will need HD and some won't so the show I'm trying to watch must be in HD. Does this sound right? I'm really not good with things like this so don't really understand how it works
