Sky Box dropping Wifi

I originally thought the issue was with my internet but actually think it's the Sky box, it can disconnect multiple times through the day, usually I have to reset it and put my password in, sometimes it will reconnect itself.

Has anyone had any success getting their Sky q box to stay connected ?
been with Sky 20+ years but getting really fed up with this now

thanks in advance

Re: Sky Box dropping Wifi

Yes had the same issue 3 times this week, out of the blue. Connects to Router but reports "No Internet Connection "

No resetting appears to work however it appears to solve eventually for a short time on its own.

With VM for broadband, strong signal throughout property lots of smart devices No issues with wireless on anything else.

Logic would say it's SkyQ issue - but logic and wireless technology are not always buddy's.

I've booked an engineer to come and see if they can sort this out.  The WiFi is dropping out as I'm watching tv

Yep. If you search this forum for wifi you'll find it's the most common issue.

Some people manage to fix it, some manage to get a Q booster working, some piggyback a wifi mesh via short ethernet cables, others resort to a fully cabled solution.

Re: Sky Box dropping Wifi

Thanks - don't really want to use cables as modem in a different room and defeats purpose of having wifi. Problem only started a couple of months ago so hopefully will get it sorted

Re: Sky Box dropping Wifi

@FlossiemacIf you have any option to wire in sky q rather than use WiFi do it.  Yes it is hassle but you only need to do it once.  It is far more stable when wired.  As mentioned above the most common issue pretty much is WiFi.  You could be getting a gigbit to your router but just a room or 2 away the signal is rubbish or fluctuates due to walls and other interferance.  SKy Q was also designed in 2015 so isnt the most up to date wifi specs either.
