Sky Apps

We have issues with all apps going through Skyq. Disney Plus - switches Sky off Paramount Plus - continually loses signal. Comes up with error ' you have an Internet problem" when Internet is fine and there is signal. BBC Iplayer - playback lag - reloads constantly We have gone through all the troubleshooting guides, reset things and even have a new Skybox. However the issue is still occurring. This is only through the main Sky Q box. Playing apps through the mini boxes in the bedrooms have absolutely no issue. Does anyone else have this and is there anyrhing we can do to fix it?

Sounds like the main Q doesn't have a great wifi connection

if you go into the netflix app/get help/network test, what speed does it report?

Re: Sky Apps

The connection says 48.69mbps but we have a 1gb service so that is shocking!

You will never get close to 1Gb on the Q's 2.4GHz wifi.

UHD needs about 25Mb so that's actually ok. I get 89 on a 1Gb connection.

Box might have a hard drive that's failing.

Re: Sky Apps

It is a brand new box as they thought it may have been the box previously!

It is just so frustrating when you are watching one of the apps and it either stops and switches off or it does like the old style buffering every couple of mins. It doesn't happen on any of the mini boxes at all.

Are the minis closer to the router?

Re: Sky Apps

No further away. We have hard wired the SkyQ box. Will see how it goes

Hope it remembers to use ethernet. Has a habit of changing its mind if you leave wifi enabled for the minis.
