Rotating blue circle .

I have a Sky Q box,

When I watch a programme I have recorded, I always get a blue rotating circle in the middle of my Sky Q box. It also happens when I go into the Apps section and watch a programme on say ITV X or BBC I Player.

The blue rotating circle disappears when I watch live television, though  when I pause a live programme, and then start watching it again the blue rotating circle appears.

I assume this is normal. However is there in the settings any way you can disable this rotating blue circle, as I do find it annoying at times.

I assume my Sky Q box is functioning correctly.

Thanks for all your replies.

I just wanted  to make sure my Sky Q box was acting correctly. Reading your replies all seems okay.

Thanks again.

Your post appears unfinished but the rotating blue circle is normal when watching back recordings. I've had Sky Q since November 2019 and never found it to be a distraction.

I put one of those black filter stickers over mine as it's so annoyingly bright

i am a little confused. Is it normal to have this blue rotating circle when you are watching an app such as ITV  X or BBCi Player or when you pause a live channel and then start watching again.

All a little annoying.

@middlesex1993

The blue circle will always rotate when watching on demand, chase playing (after you have used live pause or rewind), and when watching via an app.

This is standard behaviour.

If it annoys you, your main option (as already suggested), is to cover over the illuminated 'Q' on the front of the box. You can also put the box in a cupboard if feasible as the remote is Bluetooth and doesn't need line of sight.

Many things irritate me in life, I have to admit this has never been one of them!

Well yes, like I said, it's annoying enough that I put one of those darkening stickers over it.

What's confusing? Have you not noticed this before?

be thankful when Q first came out it was about 50% brighter with the blue light and the red recording light but a firmware update reduced the brightness

Ah my sticker predates that change so I didn't notice it 😆
