Recordings on Q

OK - Whilst I miss "reminders" from the good old HD box - I do use  recordings as a "reminder" - but I am surprised that Sky did not implement some way of FUTURE RECORDINGS - ie) Future Series/seasons.

When you remove a program from Q box - you lose the reminder function for future seasons !

There is no option to fix this.......

Hi @Wibbly-Woo   Series links for future series/seasons has always worked for me. Obviously they don't show up until the future series/seasons start. How long have you had your current box?

@Wibbly-Woo

It can be a bit hit and miss but worked okay for me for the Chicago's which I'm a bit behind on.

hi @Wibbly-Woo

There is a 'smart link' recording feature that does link new series but this is held on the main box, so it is lost should you change box for any reason.

It also depends on the meta data provided by the channel.

I have found it rather hit & miss - possibly more miss than hit for me, but I have found it useful when it does work.

I certainly would not rely on it.

One quirk that did seem to happen for me was that sometimes new BBC series would link to BBC Scotland when I live in England, although I think that has improved since all BBC regions have moved to HD.

@nigea99

Yes, same here with that - although it tended to record both the BBC Scotland channel version and my local UK channel version but haven't seen it for a while.

Correct. Unlike the Sky+HD box which shows future series at the bottom of the Scheduled Tab, the Sky Q box keeps it hidden.

Like others have said, though, I find it hit and miss, even on the Sky+HD box and prefer to keep track of them myself using the Geektown Never Miss service.

Re: Recordings on Q

Apologies for hijacking the thread.....

I am sure I used to able to scroll through all series with a 'magic link' somewhere on the sky website. This is a while ago though.

Anyone know whether this can still be done on sky Q?
