Recording issues with Late Show Live US Version

Recently I have been unable to record the US version of the Late Show Live with Bev Turner screened at midnight in the UK. I normally record on series link to my Q box as I need my beauty sleep! Over this past week it has continuously failed to record, whilst other programmes like the World Cup kicking off at the same time record with no issues. I raised this with Shubam in Sky technical but he seemed evasive to my question. He offered to send an engineer around to sort me out! Apologies sort out my issue. Whichever is the better of the two. Anyone else experiencing media blackout?

@Hammerhead19

A recording glitch is not 'censorship': removal from broadcast would be.

Were you advised of the usual troubleshooting such as full reboot followed by deleting and recreating the series link?

It's also possible that the data which enables the linking has an error, but that would typically be noticed by other users.

@mr.tickle Pointing that out isn't going to make any difference, you can tell by their reply they are only looking for an echo chamber, anyone who suggests an alternative more likely cause or points out something that doesn't match their agenda is going to be labelled a Sky employee, and nothing will change that...

True, but I also know that some reasonable people will be reading.

No problems with F1 on SkyQ here.

Can you describe the problem using words, as I can't see your picture. [EDIT: Ah, a local issue. See @Daniel0210 's helpful reply below mine]

ps. for the avoidance of doubt since you clearly misunderstood previously: Neither I, @Daniel0210@daveNOS , @Me134 , @MightyQuinn, @TimmyBGood or @nigea99 work for Sky.

@Hammerhead19
As you have a ”No satellite signal” message, check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s very likely either;
▫️a dish misalignment,
▫️a failing LNB (on the arm of the dish),
▫️water getting into the cabling,
▫️it is currently raining very heavily
so check the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.

If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise directly with your building management company or landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact direct.

Additionally:

🔹 a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels (amongst the first to be affected may be TNT or GB News),

🔹 a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.

This would indicate problems with your Satelite Signal

Please see the following page that covers a few problems - if you follow the link through and still have problems then you should find a link to book an engineer if you have your own dish

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q

If you have a communal system you may have to contact your building management to deal with the technicians responsible for the system

Re: GB News censored

Thank you all above undertood it probably is a misalignment with LNB but as this is 30 foot above my head no chance getting up close and personal! Engineer coming Sunday first thing but being without SKY during massive sport involvement is a drag.

SKY Go just doesn't do it!

looking forward to Sunday morning but will have to stay awake until then to be able to view the Rugby, Football, Golf and F1 🫪

@Hammerhead19 Cool, glad you have someone coming, hopefully it'll be sorted! And yes, it's a drag indeed.

Don't forget you can still use Sky Go in the meantime on a desktop/laptop with a long HDMI cable to your TV as an external second monitor. It's not brilliant but it's something, you can watch Live TV for all the channels you get normally.
