Re: Sky

I'm using communal WiFi. Landlord has sky q. Now if I plug my q box in as it's on same network it stops his working saying maximum number of devices So I have to disconnect  my box. If I swap to a sky stream puck will this work or will it still say maximum number of devices?

@hifiman2007  You really need to have your own broadband setup,  Stream may or may not work depending on speed etc, but given the fact they have Sky Q connected may cause issues.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Sky

Cheers. I'll stick with q. Don't pay for my broad band so no advantage going for slightly cheaper stream then get hit with a broadband bill I never had before!

@hifiman2007 problem is that Sky have said before that using 2 main Q boxes on the same broadband connection can cause problems and it's not advisable

but there is no evidence that Sky Stream would be any better

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Sky

yup. But the q box operates without need for WiFi. And I can at times connect it and download stuff when I know it won't affect landlords q. Stream requires a permanent WiFi connection so a big potential disadvantage.
