All Sky Q boxes use an IEC C7 'figure 8' power socket towards the right hand side of the rear panel, apart from the v2 main Q box which has a circular multipin connection and an external transformer block.
Unfortunately where a v2 is issued as a doorstep replacement, it's not unknown for the transformer to remain in the packaging and return to Sky with the defunct hardware.

Replacement Sky Q box - no power socket?!

Hi all,
My first ever Sky Q box died of a hard disk failure within 2 weeks.
Sky provided a replacement 2TB box this morning BUT despite extensive searches on the back I can find no power socket on the new box. The manual says it should be next to the LNB inputs - but it just isn't. Is the power input hidden behind a flap, or located elsewhere on the box? Or is it supposed to charge wirelessly like some of the new smartphones?
No doubt I am missing something obvious but help would be appreciated.

Very helpful reply, thank you. I did indeed get a box with the transformer unit & therefore am now powered up. Most grateful - but would gently suggest that the set up leaflet should mention this transformer unit option.
