Problems voice sync Sky Sports main event UHD

@humps  - Exactly what I've just reported. Having worked on both terrestrial and satellite tv encoding and dsitribution for Arqiva, I suspect the problem is in the Sky encoding system. Getting someone to accept that or find the actual cause is the problem.

I am only having problems with sky main event UHD. The sound keeps glitching for a split second but must have done it 30 times whilst watching Wigan V Saints game. Same with the cricket this morning.

Been watching the golf all day and obviously with commentary and the on course mics it's hard to tell. But as soon as they go to the studio or to interview golfers it's dreadful. Again, fine on 405, but miles off on 401.

@Mirfieldbull  I have the same experience, and like you it only occurs - or, at least is more frequent and worse than other channels - when tuned to Sports Main Event UHD. I have tried changing the audio options and completely de-powering the Q box, with no change. Considering the premium charged for HD/UHD it's unacceptable.

@adny.drum PS the last time was today, channel 401, no soundbar used. It was noticeable on and off all afternoon, throughout the coverage of The Open Championship.

On the other thread RE audio dropout sky have replies that they have fixed. Has this also fixed the sync audio issue?

I'm away at the moment so can't check myself

Audio lag on UHD is still an issue, Sky must have decided to do bugger all about it and just keep charging us a fortune. Disgraceful Sky - sort it out!!!

Watching the tennis final now and the sound is a bit behind the picture. It's been good for the last few weeks but it's really disappointing the useless kents can't get it right all of the time.

The most frustrating part is it's sound lag, so you can't correct by adding audio delay. I've cancelled Sky Cinema and now use Netflix, as no sync issues. Had to watch the US Open in HD as sync was so bad. When are you going to fix it @Sky ?!?

Audio delay is bad on F1 406 today. All HD channels are perfect

Awful, it's not even close. It's a disgusting service that sky provide sometimes and has been going on for far too long. Whoever's responsible for this again and again either needs more training or to be sacked for incompetence.

Sky F1 is bad this morning for sync both watching now and pre-recorded F1 show. No problems on Bbc1 or Sky Sports News via Sky Q box. 🤨

Yes, I watched a recording of the F1 practice last night and the sync was unbelievably bad.
