Power cable

I had a new box delivered today after my old box crashed with the outage issue. The delivery guy swapped the remote and when I asked about the cables he said they were the same. But they're not! So I have a new sky box with the wrong power cable!! When I rang to say there was no cable , I was told an engineer can deliver a cable in a month or I can go and buy one! Not good  enough cinsidering the amount I pay each month. Now I have no power cable and no resolution! Really poor service. The delivery courier should have been told to swap all cables as well as the box.

Hi @Foxred   Which power cable do you require? Is it a separate power brick with a round plug, or a C7 figure of eight plug. I hope you remembered to keep your viewing card.

@Foxred this happens all the time if its the seperate power brick cable that is missing with the multipin connection normally Sky will send out another swap box to you so maybe worth while contacting them again if its a normal figure of 8/c7 cable then you can purchase them from most electronic hardware stores if you can't/dont want to wait for an engineer

Not sure why you were told you can buy one, they're pretty proprietary. The figure 8 one is just standard and easy/cheap to acquire.


It's deeply annoying that Sky don't make sure DPD don't screw this up.

I'm facing the exact same problem! Called sky, they said they'd send a new box out. I've been waiting over 2 weeks now & still no power cable has arrived!!!

They won't send a power cable on its own. I would call them and ask where the replacement box is at

yes that's what they said, they'd have to send out a new box. Phoned last week as it still hadn't arrived after a week and told it would arrive within 5 days, which should have been Thursday. Over 2 weeks has gone since they took the old box away & still no new box has been sent.
