Picture Freezing / breaking up

Hi

 

before I book an engineer in. Over past week I've had random break ups of the picture but not on all channells.

 

Comedy and Comedy extra are unwatchable - they just constantly freeze and breakup

Sky sports will do the odd pause and break up / was bad at the weekend but seems better today (possibly after reboot).

then a couple of other channels 118 etc will do the odd pause break up but very random.

 

I've followed all the troubleshooting steps - reset box /  settings and checked in wideband / software update but hasn't resolved it. 

 

before I book an engineer to check the LNB - can I check if there are other suggestions; would have presumed it would affect all channels?

Hi @Cycleman 

Best to get an Engineer as he can check LNB and dish alignment.

weirdly very slow changing channel now as well - black screen for a few seconds on some channels.

Hi @Cycleman

noticed its actually doing it on all channels just not as bad. Engineer booked.

My picture keeps freezing up, gets worse as the evening goes on. Had this problem since storms 4 weeks ago , sometimes message comes up with poor signal

Doesn't help that when you ring the message says they can't help and look on the web site. I think the service is worsening. BT here I come as have been with sky for about 18 years and you get no credit for it

Most companies service has detoriated over the past few years - can think of a few where it was 5 minute queue time and now 45 minutes or never get through

 

Engineer came out on mine and said it was trees straight away. I didn't believe him as they've been there years, council recently pruned and not bigger than at any time before. He put new dish up, ran all new cables and moved the dish; pretty much sorted get a very minor glitch on sky 1 but generally back to how it should be.
