@PATRRICIAJONES

You might be able to do this yourself as per this:

Re: No satelite signal

Log -in to your sky forum account, on teh right hand side of the topic is a 3 dot option, click that and then click unsubscribe from thread.

That shoudl stop emails from this thread from being sent.

Other route would be to remove yourself from all sky forum notifications (think you only wanted to unsubscribe from this thread topic only). Hope that helps.

Re: No satelite signal

As person above posted, shut down all box's (main and mini box's) wait at least 1 minute, then restart your main box ONLY, let it boot up and then set it up (i also had to reset my internet as well), once thats done go through making sure everythinsg right, then and only then restart your mini box (i am not sure if you can restart all the mini box's at the same time or have to go individually), then set it all up.

That should work, it worked for me (SkyQ) and yes was an absolute pain in the butt.

Re: Is sky broadband down every where ?

I did an online chat with a Sky agent and he says there was 'an outage and an ongoing issue which has been sorted now'.

However, after all the usual fixes my Sky Q Mini box will not connect to my main box, so he is sending out a new mini box.

Re: No satelite signal

I have a possible solution!

After an hour with an advisor he suggested a 'hail mary' and it worked for me.

Aparently the solution to reset everything is for Sky Broadband users, which I am not.

Restart your mini box

when you get to the ...'I need to ask you three questions'

Question 1 is ... 'Is this a new installation' (or similar) you would normaly select NO and move onto broadband questions.

Select YES, New installation. New Box or whatever. It will then re-install and this time it works (for me)

Neither me or the tech chat fella knew why this works but it certainly did for me, a NON Sky Broadband user.

I hope this helps those struggling.

Re: No satelite signal

I have to do that at least 3 times a week with the mini box. Its very annoying especially when someone is watching something on the main box and you are having to hold in the little button on that for a few seconds as it cuts out anythign they are watching (recorded/online app like netflix/youtube/primeTV, disney+ etc). Its not a fix, its a workaround till the next time it wants you to do that (thats when turning teh mini box off and then rebooting it after 60 seconds fails).

@Manestream

That's indicative of ongoing inadequate WiFi between the main Q box and the Mini box, not the issue this thread is addressing.

If you haven't already, you should request loan of a Q wireless booster from Sky.

Re: No satelite signal

Was this just for no satellite signal?

Ours pictures have been breaking up quite a lot of the time, even on recordings.

Had a guy out who replces dish and main box and still did it, although it hasnt done it for the last couple of days as far as i have noticed.

Re: No satelite signal

People are saying it is inadequate Wifi. I have a BT smart hub that works in conjunction with the sky Q box and mini Q box. When this outage occurred for me on 10th Jan I initially lost the main Q Box and the mini Q box, the following day after much messing about the main Q box came back on, but  not the mini Q box. I tried everything as I have a lot of written instructions from a previous occasion. I sent a complaint to them, then  just over an hour later the mini Q box came back on whether this was due to my constantly unplugging everything or Sky I do not know . During all of this time I still had my computers and digital voice landline, so it was not the Wifi  or Smart hub in my case. I believe that Sky were trying to add some additional features which came up on my TV screen but could not get into. Whatever Sky was doing it messed up the system, which can be precarious at the best of times.
