No internet connection Q box

Lost internet connection to the box yesterday and it still hasn't resolved itself. In addition yesterday the box itself was glitchy and very slow to respond, in particular to the recordings menu and actions within. 

The box is connected to the router but can't access the internet. I've told all the usual thing, reset, reset the internet connection settings, tried WiFi and LAN cable, still nothing. 

It's lost connection periodically before but usually resolved itself within a few minutes. 

It's definitely a box issue.

Any further suggestions? It's very frustrating as about 70% of what we watch is downloaded or streamed!

**UPDATE**

 

Just had visitors so I paused the formula one when they arrived. It auto unpaused itself after an hour (which is still a stupidly annoying limitation). Somewhere between starting the F1 coverage and the box unpausing, it's figured out how to connect to the internet again, after around 24hrs offline🤷🏽‍♂️

 

If it happens again, I'll try pausing live TV for an hour and see if it somehow fixes it and report back my findings.

@Lumpymix Have you power cycled the router/hub itself?

Yes even though it wasn't a router issue, engine else was working fine, never actually had an issue with the router, it's Vodafone fibre.

How long have you disconnected the Q box from power for?

 

Try a good 20 minutes totally disconnected from power, otherwise, it's likely you will need a replacement if you have reset everything else and it hasn't improved.

Tried that also, unplugged a couple of times last night and then again this morning for about 20 mins or so whilst cooking breakfast

Sounds like the box has failed then, contact Sky for a doorstep or engineer swap, not forgetting to remove the viewing card if a doorstep swap.

 

You will lose all recordings and downloads, but I suspect you knew that.
