No Sound on TV shows on my Sky Q Box

As the title says: I am currently getting no sound on my TV shows. I have searched other posts with similar issues and most of them suggests reseting my remote, my Sky Q box and unconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cables. I have tried all of these things, but am still having the same issue.

The problem that I am having that seems different to other posts:

I tried watching a Netflix show and got no sounds at all (including the ads). When the main show started there was still no sound. After some trouble shooting (unplugging cables, resetting the box, etc.), I tried watching a Sky Atlantic show. The Ads DID have sound, although there was a noticable 3-4 second delay from when the screen started playing the ad, before the sound actually started. The sound was synced with the video, so I know that the box CAN play sound through the TV,  but when the main show started, there was no sound at all. I even waited 4-5 minutes into the show, in case there was a delay, but at this point I am missing the point of the show would rather my box would just work properly.

Any advice would be appreciated. I did recently switch to a new broadband provider, that may be relavent, but I was previously using a non-Sky provider, and I am paying for this Sky serivce seperately, so I don't see why this should be affected.

hi @AlexP1

First thing to try is to check/set the Sound output to Normal: - Some TVs cannot decode Dolby Digital

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual
Digital audio output HDMI

Although your problem does sound slightly different we sometimes find that a full power down restart of the TV restores sound  (i.e. switch off at mains or unplug before re-applying power)
