Network error
Hi,
since changing broadband provider months ago I've constantly had network problems.
Now I've got a multiroom box and since 14:30 today I've had to reconnect at least 10 times.
A few months ago ago I was talked through resetting/updating/restarting box and was fine for a week or so but has dropped many times since though never as many as today.
Looks like multiroom box will be returned if not sorted.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks

Re: Network error
You fibre, much cheaper and Sky couldn't match their 450/500 speed

@gypsyroadhog so I'm guessing from your post that Sky doesn't provide your internet if that is the case then your mini boxes will not connect to your WiFi from your router you need to connect the mini boxes to your main qvbox by pressing the WPS button on your mini box and your main q box then do the same for each mini box you have

Re: Network error
Hi,
the Q box connects to my WiFi but keeps losing the signal
the mini box connects fine with the Q box when it's connected to WiFi but as soon as Q box loses the signal then the Q box doesn't work.
thinking about a WiFi booster/extender which may help

Assume you don't have the option to connect your Main Q box to the router by Ethernet?
Just be aware that Q boxes will not connect by WiFi to 3rd party Boosters or WiFi extenders.
They only connect to Sky Q WiFi boosters.
With 3rd party broadband you can only the connect the boosters by WiFi to Q devices. Therefore they can be used to connect minis by WiFi to main Q box by first connecting the booster by WPS to the main Q box (or a previously connected mini) and then using WPS to connect another mini to the booster.
If you want to use a Sky Q booster to help connect the main Q box then there is the possibility to connect the Booster to the main Q box by Ethernet and then use WPS to connect the main Q box to the booster.

Re: Network error
Thanks for that when I get my head around it😂 I thought the booster..when positioned halfway between router and Q... just gave a stronger signal?
I have an Eero box which doesn't have a wps button which doesn't help matters
thanks for reply

Re: Network error
The mini can't use the eero box. It wants a direct connection to one of;
Q box
Sky Q booster (not a standard Sky booster) which is connected to your router via ethernet or your Q via wifi
A Sky router other than the new white ones
I use powerline adapters to connect my minis to my Q
and don't worry, you shouldn't have to justify using a different ISP, this stuff should just work and it often doesn't

Re: Network error
Hi, thanks for the reply
yeh I know the mini box connects to the Q, it's the Q box which is loosing the signal hence the mini box not working...think I've sussed it as currently Q is in a cabinet under the tv, I've opened the door and pulled it forward and it seems to be connecting ok hence mini box is working fine too but wife twisting as looks odd🤦♂️
it's a booster I was looking for which I could place next to Q box to strengthen the Eero WiFi signal to the Q box then could bung it back in the cabinet

Re: Network error
A booster (badly named, they are actually repeaters) should always go part way between the two things that are communicating. Putting it too close to one end causes issues with little benefit.

Re: Network error
Thanks for reply, if can sort one out which is compatible I'll certainly do that.
thinking it may be cabinet I opened the doors and pulled Q out slightly which seemed to work.
I told skyhelp what I did which they asked if there was any glass which there is in the doors.
apparently glass scrambles the signal so assume this was the reason.
I took Q out of cabinet and stuck it behind the tv hidden by the Bose soundbar but would like it back in the cabinet.
so on the hunt for a booster/repeater which won't break the bank and one that works as had a TP link which wouldn't even connect to the app.
appreciate everyone's help so far though

As I said in my earlier post, Q boxes will not connect to 3rd party boosters; only to Q WiFi boosters.
The problem is that you cannot connect a Q WiFi booster to your 3rd party Eero router.
