The instructions say the following:

Sign out of Neflix on the Q box, start it up, press left and go to the help section to sign out.

How do you sign out on Q. The app never loads?

Sign the Q box out ON ANOTHER DEVICE's Account menu under "manage access and devices"

Let's be fair the supposed 'fix' isn't a fix, it's a temporary bodge job that may or may not work and if your lucky enough that it does work be prepared to try sky netflix app roulette in a few days time. Sky needs to liase with netflix and fix the damn app.

The instructions below work -

  1. Log into Netflix via the web browser.
  2. Highlight your profile picture (Top right corner).
  3. Click on Account.
  4. Under the Security and Privacy option, click on 'Manage access and devices'.
  5. Select the device name: (it may be called Sky Q ......or Sky UK Set-top box).
  6. Select--> click on the "Sign out" option on the Sky Q ......or Sky UK Set-top box (do this for all Sky devices listed).
  7. Reboot Sky Q box by turning off at the wall or plugging out for 1 minute (do the same for mini boxes but boot up the main box fully first before rebooting the mini boxes).
  8. Go to your Sky Q box and launch the Netflix app on your Sky Q box.

You will find another solution which has 9 points not 8 as above.

The extra point is "Sign out of Neflix on the Q box, start it up, press left and go to the help section to sign out." -- This cannot be done -ignore this step.

Except it's worked for everyone who has tried it besides perhaps 2 or 3 people on here, and nobody who has tried it successfully has come back since to report it has failed again. I highly suspect user error for those it hasn't worked for.

@Stormy78 if you look at the 2nd post on page 1 the one thats marked as the answer you will see that is exactly what Sky is doing

Re: Netflix: Red Spinning Circle on Launch

It most certainly isn't user error. It has worked for me once before but now it will not resolve the issue no matter what I do.

Re: Netflix: Red Spinning Circle on Launch

@Stormy78

I would like to back you up having not posted for a while  - this fix that is constantly being plugged has never / not once worked for me either, neither has the new software update, that made no difference if it was supposed too.

Looking forward to the next NEW suggestion to try, forget everything else suggested, tried all an unhealthy amount of times but I don't mind it's a side hobby now since my loss of Netflix on Q since Sept last year and the same time following.

All the best and will keep following, in the mean time good job for those that can get the really simple instructions (to me anyway) for the highly plugged suggestion (not answer) to work.

You mean the highly plugged suggestion that HAS worked for almost everybody on here who has tried it and they've been back to confirm it, that suggestion?

After you removed all devices did you try turning it off and back on again?

Thanks for your help. I tried it taking extra care to follow all steps exactly, and it worked perfectly. However when I went to watch a second show, the problem returned. Any ideas?

Give up on it for now and use the TV app instead? There are only so many hours in the day.

Bizarrely the netflix app on my TV works much worse than the one on the Sky box (they do use different network connections and it's probably that) so I think I'm the opposite to everyone else in here
