My tv has lost its picture ......HELP!

I was trying to get a programme on ITVX and I couldn't get away from the ITVX page I kept pressing the arrow button on my sky Q remote then the picture just went off my relly - the sound is on but it wont change channels and I can't follow the sky help because my screen is black - what does this mean?

Try hitting the home or Sky button.

if that fails, power your box off and back on again.

Thanks  for your thoughts  but I have tried all that to no avail! Looks like I will have to buy a new tv tomorrow! Happy New Year! Ha with the stuff on tv these days I might not even bother.

Assume you have also tried rebooting the television set?

Disconnect the power lead to the television for 30 seconds and then reconnect to reboot.

Hi yes thanks  I have switched off at power source - left for 10mins and re started , I have unplugged all wires to tv and sky q box then re attached them but still no picture. I have just listened to Emmerdale  -  the sound is great!  I give up trying to phone Sky as its just an automated  voice asking questions that wont accept my answers arrrrrgh! - why cant I just speak to a person.
