MR006 error

Sky Q box has recently been exchanged due to a fault, have installed the replacement box, but none of the mini boxes will work, each having the same error "Your Sky Q Mini box has not been able to connect to the activation server". I have completely shutdown, unplugged the router, Sky Q main box and mini boxes, then restarted the router, followed by the Sky Q box, followed by the mini boxes. I have done this several times without success, any ideas?

Re: MR006 error

Yes, the issue has been resolved. I used the online chat and they provided the following instructions which fixed the problem.

On your main Sky Q box, press Home on your Sky Q remote, then select Settings followed by Status.
Highlight Watch on Sky Q Mini box and choose Reactivate, then Confirm.
Once the on-screen messages have disappeared, press Home on your Sky Q remote to switch your box back on.

On your Sky Q Mini box, press Home on your Sky Q remote, then select Settings followed by Status.
Highlight Connection to Sky box and choose Reactivate, then Confirm.
Press Standby on your Sky Q remote, then switch off or unplug your box at the mains.
Check there are no lights on the front of your Sky Mini box and all cables are connected properly and undamaged.
Plug your Sky Q Mini box back in and switch on at the mains.
Wait for the on-screen instructions to disappear, then press Home on your remote.

Hi @Phil167

Try Network Reset on the minis. Start with the one nearest to the main Q box

Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you get the first mini connected then for other minis use WPS on the nearest Q device (main Q box or Sky Router if on Sky Broadband or previously connected mini).

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Re: MR006 error

Hi oldfella

Thank you for your reply.

I have just tried resetting closest mini box to the Sky Q box by pressing WPS button on the Sky Q box. It goes through steps one to four, but on the fourth step it fails to connect and comes back with the same MR006 error "Your Sky Q Mini box has not been able to connect to the activation server". Prior to resetting the connection on the mini box I restarted the Sky router and Sky Q box, so it was a fresh start. With regard to my setup, the Sky Q box and mini boxes and Sky router are housed in a server cabinet and are on seperate shelves, one below the other with no more than 6" between each, the Sky Q box being on the top. The Sky Q and mini boxes are connected to a HD Anywhere server via ethernet cables and then onto each room via ethernet cables. This means that the Sky Q,mini boxes and router could not be closer to each other.
