If it's a replacement box then that's normal.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: Lost recordings

This is a new box as our old one was faulty..

  • Does this mean we have definitely lost all our recordings?

@SueG66  yes as recordings are stored locally on the hard drive of the old box

hi @SueG66

If you had any purchased from SKY Store those can be downloaded onto the replacement.

Some of your programmes that you had may be able to be downloaded from On demand/Catch up

@SueG66 if you have purchased anything from Sky Store then you can re-download from the Sky store website, purchased films etc but anything that was recorded or downloaded from on-demand/catchup you will need to try and find again

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@SueG66

That's inevitable with a main Q box swap-out: data is stored on the local hard drive, with no provision for transfer or cloud backup.
