Hi
I have recently upgraded to Sky Q (from Sky HD). Previously I had a working setup to distribute the Sky out put (in HD) via my coax distributionto all (HD) TV's using the EM 1001. Since having Sky Q installed I have issues with picture breakup and pausing on the remote TV's. I have tried the following:
1) reset EM 1001 (no change0
2) try different HDMI source (works perfectly)
3) try different HDMI lead (no change)
4) try different (clear) channel (currently 21) (no change))
5) reset/altered Sky q output definition (tried all - no change)
6) power cycled Sky Q box
I'mrunning out of things to try! Whatever I have tried the output on the remote TV(s) still pauses/interupts and I can only assume it has something to do with the Sky Q box? but what!
Any help would be gratefully received!

hi @Moorhead
I think SKY Q is 'sensitive' to the HDCP protocol (I believe 1.4 needed for HD, 2.2 for UHD) so if the EM1001 does not provide the requisite handshaking I am guessing this could be a cause.
Theone leaflet I found for the EM1001 does not quote any HDCP compliance
When you say you tried other HDMI sources do these also require the same HDCP checks ?

the other "sources" were a Firestick and a dvd player so, no. However, the pass through HDMI (through the EM 1001) to the main TV oesn't "suffer" fromthe same issues, in fact it's totally normal!

Yes and I've adjusted the Sky Q to be both 1080p and 1080i (and 720 as well actually0 and still the "pauses" happen. They are not like "normal, low signal digital"drop outs" but a full screen pause, jump, resume with no "noise" artifacts - also signal and quality are 100% o the receiving TV (I have reduced signal just in case but to no effect on the problem)

Definitely puzzling, with all the other sources working and, as you say, the main TV pass through being OK
Sorry but I have no further ideas

Have you resolved this issue as I am just upgrading to sky q and considering the Em1001 to distribute to house

I'm afraid that I haven't! The EM1001 is an excellent solution and has served me very well pre Sky Q but still has the same issue when SkyQ is its input source. Since the comments above I have tried various different hdmi leads and a 4K hdmi splitter (rather than the hdmi pass through of the EM1001) all to no avail! As above different hdmi sources don't have the same issue

I have asked the manufacturer if the EM1001 will work with sky. Let's see if they respond.

As in Labgear? What a great idea! I have no idea why I haven't thought of contacting them! Do you have a contact email?

It does depend on the settings on the Sky Q Box and unfortunately the modulator will not be able to send a Full 4 K signal.
We don't have any modulators which will work with Sky Q at maximum resolution as the market is going towards streaming content, so the demand / population continues to decrease.

Have asked them if they can give me the settings on the sky box.

I tried all available output resolutions;
720p
1080i
1080p
(and even 4K but I kne that woudn't work!)
All had exactly the same issue.

Let's see if they give me an answer to what to set it to. Have you asked them about your issues
