Issue changing channels

Hi, has anyone else experienced issues changing channels from Channel 4 using grey the circle then arrow buttons on the sky remote? 
Whenever we try we are being defaulted onto the C4 app - which we've never even registered on? 
does that make sense ?

If you hit the 'grey circle' (select) when the 'start programme from the beginning' is displayed then it fires up the relevant streaming app.

 

You can wait for the banner to disappear or dismiss it with 'back'.  Or don't hit the select button at all when using the up and down arrows to preview channels.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Problems changing channels

When I scroll to a channel, when I get to the desired channel, it downloads the programe from the start?? I have subscribed to SKY Q since day one and it is only today this has started to happen, just turned to watch the FOOD NETWORK and unless I tap in the channel number it takes me to the channel 4 app, If i use the up and down channel buttons, this doesn't happen. Any one got any ideas, I've done a software update and a hard reset of my box but it is still happening.

Hi Both

Yes this is exactly the same problem we have got - its on both the main box and the mini and has only started in the last 24 hours. We have had Q boxes since they first came out and again, this hasnt been an issue before - mind you our Q box does have some quirks and issues that we have to live with (it records progarmmes we have never watched before, misses out on episodes on series link and other odd behaviour) . But with this problem both boxes have been reset etc and the changing channel issue is still there. 

 

Any suggestions??

Same problem here, only started doing it in the last week from Channel 4 only.

 

Always been able to press 'circle' followed by up and down to search channels, followed by circle to select. Doing this on Channel 4, shows other channel previews all as 'watch from the start' instead of the normal overview. 

 

Very strange change, and pretty annoying.

I have alerted Sky to this in a closed part of the forum I am also seeing this. 

It only happens for me if I am on a ch4 owned channel and I use the mini guide 

 

I've also found rather than pressing the select button (middle button) if you press the info button to bring up the mini guide then scroll through the mini guide and press select to switch to a channel this works and switches you to the channel rather than bringing up the ch4 app

Having exactly the same issue! If I go to select ITV for example it will open the C4 app?? It's extremely irritating, also done the software update and reset. Its like everything is mapped to the C4 app

Same issue, my wife has just shown me, she said was doing it on mini box last night and thought she was doing something wrong, just showed me on the main sky q box, it happens when the 'watch from start' option is there and loads up the channel 4 app instead of going to the selected channel.

I've tried with info button and doesn't help.  The issue seems to be when the 'watch from start' option is shown on the preview in the mini guide then this is when it directs to c4 app when select is pressed.

If it's some kind of update "to improve customer experience" it's doing the opposite! My hubby is preprogrammed to change channels this way so it's a MAJOR inconvenience of course.

Yip same here just seen it tonight that it was doing it only from Ch4 if you then scroll to any other Chanel it's play from start and if you try and change it takes you to ch4 app and regardless of multiple reboots still doing it has anyone had anything from sky on this clearly a fault across the board with sky Q
