When I switch on I get power device, power on, connection guide and source. I don't know what to do. Checked forums and done say it's down to sky and done say it's the tv.

That's System in Settings @JaneF1
Is your TV a Samsung, if so what model?

Hi @JaneF1
This is a message from your TV concerning HDMI Cec control
If it is a Samsung TV try the following.
Press the Menu button and navigate to Settings, followed by System. Select HDMI-CEC and set Device Auto Power, Device Power, and TV Auto Power all to Off.

Re: I’m getting the message check power device
Thanks for your help and time. I've fiddled around and for some reason it's started to work but I've no idea what I did. Fingers crossed it works when I turn it off.

Re: I’m getting the message check power device
You need to press the power button on the Sky remote briefly for about 1 second to get TV and Sky box to switch on together.
The problem you see is when the Sky box fails to switch on at the same time as the TV so you will then need to switch on the Sky box manually.
Long press for TV and Sky box to switch off together - the remote will flash red as the TV turns off so you can then remove finger from Sky power button.
As you may have guessed I have a Samsung TV as well.

Re: I’m getting the message check power device
I had the same problem, bought new hdmi cable etc and tried all sorts... I fixed it by changing the resolution in settings, tried 1080p and worked fine so went back and tried 2160p 8 bit and has worked every time🤞
