hi @Anonymous

The dish is yours and SKY do not normally provide this service

It can be removed by any handyman as you do not need a Satellite installer or even an electrican to remove it.

It belongs to you - get a local handyman to do the necessary.

@AnonymousEven if Sky will take it away they charge about £65 as it does not matter if the dish is damaged as you don't want it I would locally to see if there are any cheap handymen about. All they need is a ladder and some hand tools.

I think it's disgraceful they don't pick them up and recycle them for free

@Anonymous  Once the dish is installed it has years of life, the fact you want it removing  isn't sky fault.

Leaving it in place is a form of recycling as this mean Sky don't need to install new dishes for the most part when customers want to get Sky Q.

The cost to send engineers out would seriously be at a huge cost to Sky who would need to pass it on to paying customers, so you have a choice, leave iot or pay to get it removed.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Why? It's yours and your responsibility. You can alway make your own arrangements to do so.

@AnonymousJust a thought, depending on where you have moved to the dish may not be yours to remove if for instance it is a rented property or in a block of flats  then the "management agent" may want it to stay. If however it is a property you have bought then you have bought it together with any other fixings that there might be so the answers about it being yours and dispose of it as you wish should be correct if you exclusively own the property.

You could always take out a Sky Q subscription - it can be utilised then...

Re: I'm disabled and need my dish removed by sky

because they should take responsibility for the environmental impact of their products. many firms offer this kind of service because they are keen to 'do the right thing' or at least to be seen to be doing so. Sky are perfectly able to provide a service like this if they want to. Sky are also able to provide a service where I can talk to a member of staff about it rather than some random customer; but they make that very difficult to do. Only person I could get through to quickly was sales. funny that...

Re: I'm disabled and need my dish removed by sky

Sky told me they would do this if I subscribed to their TV service but not otherwise. Their reasons had nothing to do with who owns it (I didn't buy it)

Re: I'm disabled and need my dish removed by sky

leaving it in place is not an option, it is very ugly and my neighbours keep complaining.

leaving it in place is not recycling it. It won't be used again where it is.

yes the price would end up with Sky customers for removal if this service was provided. As it should! customers should think about the full life of the product when they buy something

Anyway, i hope they are paying you non-sky employees for your extreme and bizarrely placed sense of loyalty!
