How to stop Sky Q recording suggested programs.

I'm getting pretty fed up of Sky recording programs that I don't want. I record F1 qualifying and the race, however Sky automatically records all the other programs relating to that race.  All the free practice, driver interviews etc are recorded.

I believe this is called automatic recording suggestions.  Can anyone please help on how to stop this happening.

Please note, these are not series linked or scheduled.

Hi @Andys1408   The F1 series link records everything related to the race weekend, it has been like this for many many years. It is not called automatic recording suggestions, it is the programmes that are series linked. There is no compulsion to watch, simply delete what you don't want to watch. You cannot series link individual elements like race only.

Hi @Andys1408   So you are recording Qualifying and the Race but not on series link. If they are not on series link, how it it recording the other stuff?

Historically that's been:

With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.

Choose 'Pushed On Demand' and toggle it to 'off'.

@Andys1408 if you are only pressing the record button once it is setting up a series link which will record everything that is linked to F1 for that weeks race and the following races if you press the rfecord button twice it will only record that programme and won't set up a series link

Pushed on Demand programmes never appeared in recordings, they were simply programmes featured on the Home page that were ready to watch without downloading (generally the latest Sky Cinema premieres or major new series on Sky channels).

Switching it on/off no-longer has any effect as the pushed on demand service ended in 2020.

Thanks for responding.

So, if I only want to series link the Qualifying & Race, it will always record the other programs that I haven't recorded or series linked?  Winds me up as it clutters my recordings and the solution shouldn't be just to delete them.  Seems a little odd to me.

Re: How to stop Sky Q recording suggested programs.

It's crazy. I've just recorded the Belgian F1 and no other programs and now whilst checking, it's decided to record 2 other programs after it. I don't want them recorded, but it seems I have no choice.

@Andys1408 you cannot just series link the Qualifying and the race its basically press the record button one to series link the whole cweekend or press the record button twice in each programme ie on qualifying press the record button twice and then on the race press the record button twice

when you press the record button twice it removes the green up and down arrows which indicate series recording

Re: How to stop Sky Q recording suggested programs.

They appear as seperate programs on my Sky F1 channel.  I'm pretty sure i should be able to record one without having to record all of them.

I've no interest in Teds Notebook or any of tye Free Practice so dont intentionally record them. But Sky records them anyway. They're seperate programs on the TV listings so should be able to record one and not all.

@Andys1408 you can just record 1 programme you need to do as I say and not just press the record button once which series links the whole weekend every time there is a Grand Prix you need to manually set record on each programme  and every time there is a Grand Prix and thats by pressing the record button twice when you highlight the programme in the EPG
