Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

I have finally be able to sort it, you need to contact HBO and get them to change the email address of your HBo account to that of your sky account, then go to the hbo app on sky and login.

All working for me now

Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

Hi, I have contacted HBO previously to ask them to do this very thing but they seem unable to help. Who did you contact please, was it messgaing/email/phone. If phone do you have the number you used?

Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

I emailed them, it was my third attempt to contact them, you have to spell out exactly what you need and they did it straight away

Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

Hi, ok sorry to be a pain. are you able to share the email address you successfully used?

I have tried the chat service previously and they stated the email account address change was not possible.

I have tried the 'support @ hbo.com'  but that is coming back with a send failure notice.

edit - Ive now sent a request to 'support.uk @ hbo.com'

@JGOLDY3003

Join the queue, you are not alone. Its appears at present there is no 'known' solution to this problem, other than keep logging in/out between accounts (which is a right pain). Keep your eye on this thread as something may happen down the line.

Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

@Matt+P+daisy

yes, I have e-mailed HBO requesting the same, however based on my previous dealings with them recently I am not holding my breath. We shall see, I will post a response if I get one. When I requested this via chat they said they could not change the email on the account to the Sky one as an account in that email address already exists, so effectively couldnt use it agin to make the swap over (sort of makes sense but doesnt expalin how they changed yours)

Thanks, and glad you got sorted

Re: How do you unlink HBO from wrong account

@Matt+P+daisy This is the reply I've just recieved from HBO Max, how they managed the other posters account i have no idea. They want me to go via EE/BT. So, I now have Sky/HBO/EE all saying the other/s should resolve the problem, it is truly ridiculous situation.

Ps - EE have confirmed with me they cannot do what HBO are suggesting so im back to square one.

Hi Keith,

I understand that you’d like to update your email address to link your HBO Max account with your new Sky subscription.

While I can certainly change the email for you, doing so right now would cause an "account collision" because you currently have two separate subscriptions billed through different providers.

The best way to get everything including your TNT Sports and HBO Max content under one single email address is to merge your accounts. It takes a few steps, but it ensures you won't have any login issues later.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Contact BT: Request that they unlink your current HBO Max account from their system.
  2. Restart Activation: Once BT confirms they have unlinked it, restart the BT activation journey.
  3. Use your Sky Email: When prompted during the activation, you must use the same email address associated with your Sky account which is ....................@sky.com
  4. Confirm: Log in to your unified account to confirm that both your Sky and TNT entitlements are appearing together.

I know this feels like a few extra steps, but it truly is the best way to keep your subscriptions organized under one roof.

Please give this a try and let us know if this works. We will be waiting for your confirmation and are here to help if you face any problems!
