However when you ask sky to do this they say they can't, it's an HBO issue

Done that, but even with a partner ID they say there's nothing they can do, it's upto Sky

The escalated chat I had has now been closed without being resolved, with HBO and Sky both saying it's the others problem. I'd have thought that if I downgraded my Sky subscription so I was no longer entitled to HBO, Sky would quickly cancel my HBO access. If I was then to resubscribe, they'd have the ability to add HBO back. Surely it's something Sky can resolve?

I have now given up trying to
link the 2 accounts (HBO with TNT via EE mobile and Sky Basic with ads). It's not the end of the world, I mainly watch sport so will leave signed in on that account. Some previous posters have managed to get Sky to cancel their HBO activation so they can start the process again (which is what I need), however I have again tried and Sky have insisted they are unable to do this for me. It's my own fault for not activating with correct email address when I signed up for HBO on Sky. If anyone finds a way to sort this out please message me. Thanks

@arthur64 I'm sure that if you downgraded your Sky subscription so that you were no longer entitled to HBO max, Sky would quickly cancel your access to HBO, so I'm sure it's within their capabilities to resolve this for everyone. Perhaps one of the Sky experts can tell us why the can resolve it for some customers, but not everyone?

spent the last 90minutrs being told by Sky chat agents they can't do anything. I did politely suggest they read their own website advice 🙂
@NTipp can you confirm that you are the sky account holder and requested the partner id number from sky yourself?

@DJohnD58 Can you confirm that you are the sky account holder and it's yourself requesting the partner id

Yes I am, and I did recieve the parter ID, which meant nothing to HBO when I contacted them.

Yes I am and have been given it - but HBO are refusing to do it !!

Firstly, there's an ongoing issue on our end where customers are having two separate HBO Max accounts with different subscription. One is the entertainment plan with Sky and the other is the TNT Sports plan with BT/EE. It is happening because customers are using different mails to activate their subscriptions.
The first resolution is to watch content on two different accounts, but it's not viable for you. So, we will go ahead with the second one.
The second resolution is that you contact your provider and ask them to unlink your HBO Max account and then go through the activation steps again but using the email address that you want to use.
But since Sky asked you to contact us regarding this. This option is also not viable because we are not authorized to make any changes to the accounts who are not directly billed through us. As you are not directly billed through us, and billed through a different provider; we do not have the access to do the needful for you. But as you said, Sky asked you to contact us.
As you said Sky is not assisting you regarding this, and they're asking you to contact us where we're not authorized to do it for you.

Hi
I have a similar but not so similar issue.
I have had TNT through BT/EE for years and was able to view through the TV channels on Sky and also access through the Discovery+ app through my sky Q box with no problems.
After getting an advisory email from BT I logged in to the HBO Max app with my existing Discovery+ credentials and was able to see my BT/EE TNT Sports subscription fine.
I then activated HBO Max through my sky Q box to get acces to the basic HBO package that is now available through my subscription with Sky.
I suspectthat I may have done this incorrectly as I used the same email address that is on my Sky account and my newly created HBO account for my TNT sports subscription but didn't choose the password route.
I got in and could see just the sky subscription in HBO Max. I thought that it would just take time for thr TNT supscription to appear as it is the sam email address, but no.
I tried on various devices and logged out (maybe stupidly) on the app through my Sky Q box and logged in again using my password but it goes to my TNT Subscription version only and not the Sky one also I have lost the ability to see TNT through the TV channels (is this not available anymore through EE?).
When looking at my Sky accout it says that the HBO Max basic with ads is now active but I have no way to view it as the only subscription that appears in HBO Max on any device including my Sky box is the TNT one.
Any help would be good.

I can only assume you need to log out of all devices which you can do from the app - do it for both IDs - and then log back in on the app to each account one by one. Then choose the relevant one to log back in on the Q box.

Hi @Brill+Gill - I have a similar problem, I used to have TNT Sport through BT/Discovery+ and activated HBO Max successfully, Sport was working fine.... then I made the mistake of opening the HBO Max app on my partner's Sky Glass, and entered my Discovery+ email when it asked.
Now HBO Max says it is billed through Sky, only has "Basic with Ads" and says "Previously billed through Discovery+" - so I've lost access to the sport...
Is there a way to unlink the HBO Max app from Sky completely so it goes back to being linked to my Discovery+ account... I'm not bothered about the TV access, just want the Sport!

I have the same problem with tnt account on one email and sky hbo account on another email. Please can a sky employee help with this.

Any updates from Sky as to how this can be resolved? There was no problem having TNT Sports and Entertainment on one account with Discovery, even though they were paid separately.
