HDR indicator no longer showing

Hi

Have UHD subscription and watching footie on 401. I used to check HDR working by going into Bravia picture settings-this would then show on TV briefly.

I've tied now, but screen just shows "HDMI4". (Slot connected to Sky Q)

The only recent change has been the addition of Sonos Arc. That can't have affected picture quality, can it?

Think I'm going senile

Thanks

Re: HDR indicator no longer showing

Hi

Yep. Thanks.

I've also looked at the list of Sky UHD/HDR content, and that's not showing when I try that?

How bizarre.

Yeah - that's nearly 3 years out of date @hapazard2

A Man Called Otto is currently the latest Sky Cinema in HDR

Home menu - todays top pick.

Try rebooting your TV and Q box

To reboot your box press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

To reboot TV disconnect power for 30 and then reconnect  or maybe your Sony reboots if you hold Standby off for more than 3 secs

Re: HDR indicator no longer showing

Cheers. I thought (wrongly?) all the footie on 401 was HDR.

hi @hapazard2

401 should be in HDR if you have UHD  & as you hope HDR working correctly.

401 is SKY Sports Main Event UHD but is 'Smart Swapped' depending your subscription - check that it is showing as SKY SpMEUHD and not just HD

Hopefully the power down restart that @oldfella suggested will sort you

Re: HDR indicator no longer showing

Thanks. Definitely says UHD next to 401. Something weird happening, unless Sky suddenly started charging for HDR.

Can I suggest you try changing the box resolution to HD -& then fully exit & then go back & reset back to 2160p 10 bit (maybe even do a complete power down of the TV in between)

Or Sky are penalising people with sound bars.

Hi @hapazard2

My Sony has no HDR indicator .

I need to use the TV remote  Info button to establish UHD/HDR - Audio input. If I'm not using my amp

Just a thought - after adding the Sound bar did you change the HDMI port on your TV ?

If so double check all the settings on your TV for the new port

Is your Soundbar HDR (HLG version)  compatible @hapazard2?
