Hi guys,
My Dad's just had a Q setup installed and we need a longer cable for the Multiroom box. I wasn't present for the install but Dad mentioned the engineer said that he advised against HDMI cables with 'ethernet' support.
I've just bought him a longer cable and I note it does have ethernet support... are there any known issues or was the engineer talking c#@% 😏 Can't say I've ever heard anything previously?
Thanks.

Is it possible he was referring to HDMI over ethernet ?
I have 4K cables which also support Ethernet on both my main box & mini with absoluetly no problems
(Actually main box to AV amp & then also AV Amp to TV)

Ah, maybe... So, HDMI on the TV to ethernet on the box? I've just been reading the reviews of the cable and there are a lot of Sky Q users rating it very highly - so I think he'll be alright 😊

As @nigea99 says, HDMI with Ethernet is just an HDMI lead with an additional data channel. That channel doesn't do anything unless devices at both end can support sending data along it.
I'm not aware of it causing issues with Sky, perhaps the engineer had a bad experience?

Nope, a very standard 4k cable - just the extra length we needed.
