Extremely slow downloads

Took out 500mbps Sky broadband yesterday and it all seems fine on other devices and speed tests are only pretty good. However on the Sky Q downloads it is extremely slow and took 20 mins to download a 4GB film which seems ridiculous. I'm thinking it's because it's connected to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz. My understanding is that Sky Q boxes only connect via 5GHz if the ISP is Sky so I wasn't expecting any issues.

 

Grateful for any help that anyone can provide to sort this for me.

We also have this issue with a 550 mbs wireless Virgin connection, taking up to 20 minutes to download a film.   This is a real issue and we are considering cancelling the subscription as it is pointless waiting this long to watch a programme.
