Constant cooling since new wi-fi

I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi package with my current provider (not sky) and was sent a new router for the upgraded speeds etc.

Since getting it my sky q box constantly shuts down and the overheating fan comes on 3 to 4 times per day (even when the box is already in standby mode)

I had my original box replaced 4 days ago as it was thought that was the problem but the new box I have is even more temperamental and does it even more and for longer periods.

The box is where it has always been for the past 6 years without issue, it's on an open shelf where it is well ventilated but still does it and it's frustrating because as soon as I switch off the plug and turn it back on even for a second or 2 it works perfectly fine again for a couple of hours before it's next shutdown moment.

I have moved the router further away from the tv and box than it already was just in case that was causing the problem and it's still not resolved the issue.  Could it be because the router speeds are too fast for the box? It is connected by LAN cable to the router?

Any help or advice would be appreciated before i throw the whole lot in a bin hah!

If your new broadband provider is EE then you may want to have a read of this thread:
