Channel 5 corrupted sugnal

Since CH5 switched their uplink configuration on 22/7 the reception on my Sky Q box has been corrupted and broken up.  There is some advice online to reboot the box which I have done twice but the signal is still corrupted.  Other associated CH5 channels in the same package are also corrupted, eg USA 5.

What is the next step please?

You'll likely need an engineer to check dish alignment/LNB.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

We have the same problem- we are on a communal dish and waiting to hear if neighbours are experiencing the same ?

They will be because they are all the same satellite frequency. As stated you probably need a.engineer to reset you dish

Re: Channel 5 corrupted sugnal

Why is an engineer needed?

Because dish has moved?

Or because 5 has moved?

Lots of people in same boat surely can't be dish has moved??

Re: Channel 5 corrupted sugnal

Channel 5 hasn't moved, it's still on the same frequency but the type of modulation has changed. This alone wouldn't cause a loss of signal (BBC/ITV/C4 and many others have already done it) so any issues are almost certainly down to a dish being slightly out of alignment, which was just about good enough for DVB-S modulation but not for the newer DVB-S2 mode.

If you don't want an engineer visit for any reason and can live without C5 and it's spin off channels, that's up to you.

Re: Channel 5 corrupted sugnal

Thanks for all your replies, it would appear that dish alignment is not required or an engineer's visit, (both of which are the suppliers first answer!)
Coming back to look at Channel 5 tonight it must have been corrected at source, or software upgrade on the box, as the signal is clear, as is its sister channels.
I had the same issue some months ago when TNT Sports changed their delivery and I found multiple complaints online.  That somehow improved soon after as well.
