Changing Sky Q boxes

I have an old sky Q box 2TB version but it doesn't have HDR, is it possible to buy a second hand box off ebay and change it to one with HDR?  I have tried to get one through Sky but couldn't. I've been with sky for 17 years and its a bit annoying i'm paying the same amount for an inferior product, I don't expect to be rewarded but it feels a bit like being punished!

All Q boxes are loaned - you cannot buy them.

However, Sky could perform a swap but would like request an admin fee for HDR box if you don't have one.

@scoobydooby

Simple answer is any Sky Q boxes on eBay or other such sites are stolen property.

Re: Changing Sky Q boxes

As the box is OK they wouldn't replace. Tried to see if I could buy one but was out of stock.

Sorry didn't realize how much this has been covered before!  Just one more question has the sky shop gone? I couldn't find it online and it doesn't appear through my sky box either.

Weird. They usually agree to an upgrade to an HDR box, with a small admin fee.

Hi @scoobydooby   You may have to settle for a 1TB HDR box.

Thanks for all the replies, i'll contact them again and see if they'll agree to a HDR box.

They should, but it's usually the 2019 1TB for a fee of either £49 or £99.
