Just bought a Sony TV to replace a Samsung. The connecting cable from the Q box had a USB end to connect to the TV, but the Sony input. Looks like the old fashioned aerial cable, do I need to buy new cables?

The only way to connect is via HDMI cable. (Not USB)
It would be unusual in the extreme if the new TV didn't have HDMI inputs. (Unless it's a second hand set over 15 years old)

Re: Cable ends incorrect
There will be several HDMI slots on the TV (usually at least 3), that's where you connect the Sky box. The aerial slot is only for connecting an aerial (for Freeview) you can't connect a Sky box that way.

hi @TomC6
It is possible tha t your new Sony TV has a Satellite input connector which may be confusing you.
As the others have said SKY Q connects via HDMI connectors that all modern TVs have
