2160p 10 bit - supported? 4K LG G4.

Hi guys,

I was looking at my box settings recently and I notice that I was only set to 1080i... Pretty sure I'd set this to 2160p previously, but hey ho. Anyway, I can't appear to set the res to 2160p 10 bit, despite it being supported. Best I get is 8.

Thoughts? I'm using very decent 8K HDMI cables to my devices.

Thanks.

Think I've sorted it... it applies anyway 😂

It was just a colour tweak in settings.

Thanks everyone.

hi @slipd

Check the settings in your TV's menu for the HDMI you are using, I can't remember the setting specifically for LG but look for options like Deep color, Enhanced (I think that is Sony)  - although I think most modern TVs now default to these it is worth checking

Hi @slipd   What is the length of the cable?

Just looked at my HDMI cable specs: 8 and 12 bit are supported. No mention of 10. Could it be that possibly?

@slipd

Any cable which supports 12bit (which would have to be HDMI 2.2) will also support 10 bit.

@slipd as @nigea99 stated you need to find the deep color setting on your TV and activate it then you should be able to use 10bit
