I have had this today, in the end apple advised to got and connect to a neighbours wifi to get past the issue, did that and it worked. I couldnt hotspot as my mobile and wifi is with sky. Apple said that sky wifi security is not good enough for the apple servers so it wont let it pass when adding a new phone to the icloud account. Managed past that part, but cant seem now to connect to the wallet so assuming the same issue is on the servers for apple pay.  Pretty poor that this wasnt address prior to launch

This is very poor from Apple. Sky WiFi or mobile hotspot has never been a issue previous years.

This is ridiculous — I paid a lot of money for this, and it’s basically a brick. What am I supposed to do, just lose all my data? I’m really disappointed with both Sky and Apple. I’ll be sending the phone back.

I have got a delivery of an iPhone 17 Pro today and I have same issue... my fibre is also sky... so no idea!

just activated a hotstop from a vodafone iphone and the sign in worked fine!

tried everything suggested, spoke to apple.

 

just fixed it by hard resetting, driving to local Tesco connecting to their wifi and it worked first time. Seems to be sky ossue. Hope this helps someone

It's not a sky issue, it's the iPhone and a bug with the wifi. Set up a personal hotspot with the old iPhone and connect to that (hold down the power button on the new iPhone to get more wifi options) and it should work fine

Hi, I've found a work around. Initially set up as a new phone, use your old phone set as a WiFi hotspot and when asked for a WiFi network connect the new phone to that hotspot.  Continue and login to your Apple account then select setup from your old phone.

My old phone no longer has a sim in it, now eSIM in new phone so sim is finished with

I been on the phone to apple for over an hour it's to do with sky wifi..

set your phone up as if you don't have a apple account, once it's set up connect to a hotspot from your old phone or someone else, sign in to your apple account, reset your iPhone and settings and when you restart and go through it again it should be ok to connect to WiFi 🤞🏻
