Re: Unable to activate eSim

What i did was to open the mysky app, tap mobile at the botton.

Then tap your Sim under the heading of 'You sims' (scroll down a little, i have 6 sims so just found my one in the row)

Tap manage sim

tap 'sim options'

sroll down and tap - replace my eSim

folliow the guide.  you will get a few emails from sky.  Wait until you get the last one which will have a 4 digit PIN code on it, you will need that.  Once you have that code, look for the email that has the link for the esim on it and tap 'install esim'.  it will take you to a new screen on your phone where it will ask you for the 4 digit PIN code, type this in and it should the activate.

Hope this helps

Re: Unable to activate eSim

I have spoken to the support team at 1.00pm today as having the same problem as others on this thread - e.sim not working. No phone or text. I can confirm that the support team had no answer to my problem. They have escalated to network team but they may not respond until Monday. I have been without a mobile since Wednesday and my old phone no longer works as the number transferred to new phone.  Iphone17 air so no option to insert a sim. I have tried the link here but simply takes me to the same web page as I have been wrestling with since Wednesday. I must have wasted 6 hours of my life trying to sort this and no solution in site.

Re: eSIM won’t activate on new iphone

I saw that post but it just said SKY fixed the issue but not how?

Re: eSIM won’t activate on new iphone

Awful service. I wish they would just come clean and say there is a know problem and when it will be resolved rather than spending hours on the phone going through possible fixes

Re: Unable to activate eSim

Hi Wiz , I have tried requesting a new eSIM through the sky app but have had to provide my sons mobile for the two factor authentication as my text not working. Not sure if this request was accepted by sky.  How long did it take to receive a new eSIM and was this via email?

Re: Unable to activate eSim

I have a 2 step security check which involves them texting a number to me which obviously I cannot get.  Its so frustrating!

Re: Unable to activate eSim

Same here. Who ever designed their process flows has not taken into account the basics. E.g if you have no phone connection because of a faulty sim how can you reach out to them. At least I am at home. Feel for you being in the USA without a phone

Re: Unable to activate eSim

Unfortunately I don't have a replace my eSIM option.  I can get a new one or install one and both require security checks whereby codes get text to my non-existent phone

Re: Unable to activate eSim

They need to change the two factor check from text to email. At least then can access any codes / security checks

Re: Unable to activate eSim

Tried another advisor today. Yesterdays one said the problem is fixed and will be able to activate replacement eSIM today. I'm so reluctant to do this as I know many of you have lost the services completely and I still have my iPhone 15 active., so phoned Sky this morning and guess what? Still not fixed but guaranteed that it will be fixed by tomorrow at 5pm or Tuesday at 2pm! Even this site seemed to have problems. It said 303 connection error when I tried to sign in. I mentioned that to the advisor as well.

Re: Unable to activate eSim

It would be worth going through the process. Mine failed for 2 days but worked with a replacement eSIM on Friday. I've also upgraded my wife's 14 pro max to my old 15 pro max and that activates without any problems.

Re: Unable to activate eSim

That's good to know. But I only thought of moving to Sky because of their very cheap offer. Given that it's a 12 month contract and only 1GB, both of which are negative matters, and that I said that I would decide later whether to move my old number, I think I am going to stay with my current provider and just never bother with Sky. After all, I don't have a contract with them as the contract only begins when the SIM is activated.

Re: Unable to activate eSim

Unfortunately the sim is disabled on my old phone and I need the two step security to set up a new one 🤷‍♀️.  I have bought an American sim to get me through my holiday (SKY will be paying for it or I will move my contract elsewhere).

Re: Unable to activate eSim

I was also thinking of getting a PAYG sim and fitting to my old phone. Having two step security using text is a nonsense  given no signal. Glad you got sorted though with a sim. Still no end in sight and no contact from sky.

Re: Unable to activate eSim

I have now decided to send the Iphone Air back. I had enough of different advisors telling me diffeent things. On Sunday an advsior who was quite helpful assured me that the esim issue would be sorted by Monday at 5pm and sent E mail for replacement Esim. But I was getting more and more reluctant to try and install it as I still have a fully working Iphone 15 and luckily not lost service.

SO yesterday evening I called again and this advisor seemed clueless. I was old previously to go into my sky on old phone and find a barcode to scan from new phone. So I no longer wanted to risk it.

So will think about a new iphone that has a physical sim!
