You can continue using the data plan/sim you have got so all you should need to do is to put through the swap. If it wants you to order a new sim then just select the cheapest plan for t then when it arrives do not activate it so it gets cancelled.
When you return your device make sure you get and keep proof of posting. The swaps are taking up to three weeks to process so you could find for a while you are being charged for both of them.
