Silly settings - iPhone 17

I can make outgoing calls. My wife and the home phone (both with SKY) can call me. No one else can call me but I get motion missed calls. The two sim settings are causing issues. If I disable one the phone stops working as a phone.  I have tried the online pages but get lost in the choices, the virtual assistant has a hissy fit as it does not understand my issue. There is no phone number shown for human help.  Also, I have been told not to send my old phone back with the label provided but to wait for an empty box with a label to resend old phone! Am I going to gaga?

Re: Silly settings - iPhone 17

Hi, yes as shown I am using the iPhone 17 and IOS 26. Finally touched base with a human who spent nearly one hour with me. It turn out the iPhone 17 is set automatically for eSIM. After doing the move of data etc from old iPhone 13 I inserted my old physical SIM. This co fused the heck out of the new iPhone 17. I could receive calls from my wife but she is a SKY customer (Samsung) and a ICE contact. People outside my house could not activate the ringer. They showed up as a missed call and left a voice message.   We had to reset the iPhone 17 network settings without the physical SIM card and have my contacts calling me who were not SKY customers. We had a result that worked. Just think carefully when changing to a brand new iPhone - does it need a SIM card or does it become a eSIM iPhone when you transfer your data etc.  Hopefully I will not have this problem when I replace the iPhone 17 for and iPhone xx in the future.
