Send back old device

Hi wanting to send back old device as I've gone with another provider after my sim contract has ended, I didn't realise I still had a contract on handset till October 25! So want to send back to cancel this, how do I do this/is it possible to do this and end contract for handset?

AIUI you can only return devices to Sky as part of a swap (i.e. purchasing a new phone).

Ultimately, you have a credit agreement for the device that needs paying off.  If the residual value of the device doesn't cover the outstanding credit then you need to pay that in addition.  (You are not 'renting' the phone but purchasing it under HP)

However, a recent thread seems to indicate you can 'return' a device (but the caveat around residual values would still apply and would be payable at next bill).  See here: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Mobile/Send-phone-back-without-swapping/td-p/4762008

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

You can't cancel this however if you are able to you could call Sky to pay it off in full but that apart you will have to pay the phone off as you have been doing each month.
