SIM card PIN number

I changed the sim card unlock number, I thought I put  4 digits in, it now wants 6 digits which I don't know.

How can I get this reset, I can't get passed the bot in the web chat and the sky phone help thinks I want to reset my sky box pin.

anyone know how I can do this or a telephone number I can't speak to an operator for sky mobile?

If you have changed it then the only possible way around this would. E to contact Sky so they can get a replacement sim sent out to you.

Re: SIM card PIN number

Don't you get a PUK pin to unlock if you enter the pin too many times, you shouldn't need a new sim only the PUK pin to unlock and reset the Sim lock pin

Re: SIM card PIN number

The PUK should be 8 numbers and not 8 zeros as Sky misleading point out here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-mobile-puk-code-and-sim-pin

Poorly written.^

or I'd be shocked that all sims were 8x0 PUK because that's why UK had the phone hacking scandal where all default voicemail pins for external access were set to the same default pin per network.

Re: SIM card PIN number

Ok it might well be 8x0

The forum actually bans you typing it probably for security even though it's on their website.

I can't see any PUK in My Sky login anywhere.

Also just raked out my sim packet from years ago thinking the PUK was in there with the mobile number like most mobile providers do with the phone number already allocated.

Sky had a activation code and SIM card number but no phone number or PUK.

If 8x0 is the standard set up for Sky that's a absolute amateur onset up Sky Mobile thinking it's not important - the sim/PUK locks are there to protect you from unauthorised usage if your mobile is lost or stolen and the sim is placed in another device.

If this is accurate & I'm sure it is then Sky really have left customers at high risk here to their financial benefit for lost/stolen unauthorised use.

Try type 8 zeros and post it. They've blocked it on the forum for  security reasons, it's on their website as posted^ but a PUK is meant to be unique as your SIM card number.

Re: SIM card PIN number

Ok, this is pretty shocking. On Friday I tried to convert my SIM to an esim, but failed to get the code needed from Sky on email.  I gave up trying, so thought I'd set a SIM pin instead. Somehow I got kicked out.  I then managed to unlock using the PUK code from Sky's website, eight zeros.  My SIM was then unlocked and I could set a new pin.  So it seems to me that Sky mobile SIM pins are completely insecure as can be overridden with a publicly available PUK code.  I may well take all this up with a formal complaint and eventually OFCOM if needs be.
